Lewes reminded me of France, lovely market and a great atmosphere.
A packed house at Chalk Gallery in North Street where artists had paintings on display on the theme of ‘Charleston’, some of the artists told us about their work in more detail.
A group called ‘Rottingdean Writers’ was also on hand to perform their poems. This was organised, I believe, by Sue Bartlett one of their members. Each writer had taken an individual painting in the exhibition as the theme for their work so there were different styles and interesting interpretations,
What a great idea, plenty of food for thought, generous refreshments provided by the gallery and a good time had by all!
