The seagulls won’t be happy

The Saltdean Lido has won £50,000 in Lottery money to re-establish the kiddies paddling pool for 2015.   At last a tiny bit of refurbishment, even if the seagulls have have lost out!

White Cliff Cafe

A summer of toddlers splashing about will be brilliant for young familes and might bode well for the White Cliff Cafe too which has worked really hard for it’s current success.  Perhaps some of the money all those hardworking Lido supporters have raised, might run to a bit of sand and some climbing ropes like Hove Lagoon, where I had many happy times with my grandchildren

We belonged to The West Pier Association for years, supporting endless fund raising activities, although we did not live down here at the time. In retrospect I think West Pier failed to get re-built partly due to endless internal politics. There must certainly be big business interests in the scenic tower that is being built instead.

My film about it’s final demise and now one of my older poems to accompany it. – lasts 2 minutes.
